Leurre Juste is a series of 13 episodes, each 30 minutes long, to be broadcast on Télémag and Noovo. New episodes begin each January. Leurre Juste has been airing since January 2016.

Popular professional angler Daniel Robitaille has surrounded himself with an all-star team: Marc-André Tremblay, Luc Couture, Samuel Tesser and Patricia Mattia. In a unique formula, each week one of the three co-hosts accompanies Daniel on a fishing adventure that’s sure to entertain viewers.

All excellent anglers, the members of the animation team are sure to share their fishing tricks and the best lures they use to achieve success. Expect spectacular moments!

DANIEL ROBITAILLE

I’ve been sport fishing for nearly 40 years! I’ve been enjoying sharing my fishing knowledge since 2004 through articles published in Aventure Chasse et Pêche magazine. Since 2007, I’ve been shooting regularly for television, notably on the RDS programs Bonne Pêche, Expédition Faune and Vacance Nature. In fact, I had a column on every Bonne Pêche program for 7 years. I also filmed for Martin sur la route (Radio-Canada) and Testé sur des Humains (TVA).

Once again, with a view to sharing my fishing knowledge with anglers, I have produced 4 fishing technique DVDs which are still sold on my personal website (Shallow Water Walleye, Deep Water Walleye, Speckled Trout and Lake Trout).

On the competitive scene, every year I take part in a few fishing tournaments without making it the focus of my activities. In tournaments, I won nine times and was in the TOP-5 five other times. I’m also a multi-species fishing guide, which allows me to spend up to 150 days a year on the water. I’m also a speaker at hunting and fishing shows every winter and at various events on request.

I’m privileged to be able to make a living from sport fishing. I owe it to fishing enthusiasts to be able to do this, so I make it my duty to be very generous with the tips, tricks and techniques I use in all my activities.

I’m very proud to be at the helm of LEURRE JUSTE with Ben, Marc-André and Luc. We’ll be working hard to ensure that LEURRE JUSTE lives up to your expectations!

MARC-ANDRÉ TREMBLAY

I’ve been working in the fishing industry for several years. I currently own my outfitter. I was also a teacher at the Centre de Formation Professionnelle de La Baie for the D.E.P Guide Chasse et Pêche (protection and exploitation of wildlife territories), and had the good fortune to be a director for SEPAQ.

My activities have enabled me to be read, seen and heard in various media, magazines, newspapers and television programs. I also took part in 2 fishing technique DVDs with my sidekick and tournament partner, Daniel Robitaille. In 2009, my first season on the competitive scene, I finished in the top 5 four times and won one tournament in the 6 competitions I took part in during that first competitive season. Since then, other top-5 finishes and victories have followed, culminating in my latest achievement in 2015, a top-5 finish at Quebec’s biggest walleye tournament.

I’ve always made a living out of sharing my passion, and I’m particularly proud to be able to continue sharing it with you through L’émission Leurre Juste.

LUC COUTURE

Like many of you, I discovered fishing when I was very young. Any body of water deserves a cast or two to find out what species lived there. The bike took me to any place where I could put my feet down to cast my line and wait… Then came the age of driving around Quebec and starting to fish from a boat. Ice fishing was also tried out with my father.

From the age of 16, I put a lot of energy into understanding the behavior of cold-water species. Walleye has become the target species! For over 35 years now, I’ve been trying to understand its behavior during the 4 seasons, especially in winter on the icy surface.

Fishing is an incredible source of entertainment for me, and I’d like to share it with you because, as you’ll see from Leurre Juste, I really don’t take myself too seriously. I’d just like to chat and exchange views on this wonderful hobby… I’m lucky enough to be able to accompany some very good anglers: Daniel, Ben and Marc-André. My contribution will undoubtedly be to make them smile… Fishing must remain a passion in all its forms.

SAMUEL TESSER

Despite my young age, I’ve been fishing for 18 years! I started when I was very young, thanks to my uncle. He took me to a fish farm when I was 4, and that’s when I got hooked! He continued to bring me fishing throughout my childhood. I made fishing friends who were older and more experienced than me. I learned a lot from them. They showed me a lot of techniques and tricks. They even introduced me to winter fishing! Over time, I began to understand more and more about fish and different techniques. I challenged myself each season to catch a trophy fish of every possible species. I used to share a lot of my shots on social networks, and one day I received a message from someone named Daniel Robitaille. I knew Daniel because I followed him a lot on the Internet. He asked me to have dinner with him to make me an offer. At that time (a long time ago), I wasn’t yet 18 and I had a lot of questions about a gentleman in his forties asking a 17-year-old out to dinner! Joking aside, I immediately accepted and it was a proposal that changed my life. I’ve been working with Daniel and the whole team for about 5 years now. Thanks to this, I’m learning and improving every day! I had the opportunity to play 2 professional walleye tournaments with Daniel and Marc-André. What’s more, I’ve been on several fishing trips, each one crazier than the last. I started tournaments in 2019 with a third-place finish at the Ecotone Super Challenge in the pro bass section with Stéphane Deraiche. I haven’t really had the opportunity to do much of it, as I don’t have the appropriate craft. In the future, I plan to make several, because I love it!

PATRICIA MATTIA

When I was little, my grandmother passed on to me her passion for fishing. Every year, she took me fishing in Abitibi. I was really looking forward to it. My passion for fishing grew stronger around the age of 19, when I started watching and analyzing 100% of all the fishing videos I could find. Several excellent fishermen have also shared their knowledge with me, for which I’m very grateful. From that day on, I couldn’t do without fishing! I put a lot of myself into this activity. I’ve had the privilege of being sponsored by several fishing companies. I took part in a few hunting and fishing shows and was lucky enough to meet Daniel Robitaille. We talked a lot and he gave me good advice and passed on a lot of his knowledge. Fishing with Daniel has fueled my passion even more. Being part of the Leurre Juste team allows me to improve and learn more every day, and I look forward to sharing this knowledge with all Leurre Juste fans.
