Skull Bound Chronicles Jana Waller

Jana Waller is a skull artist who beads and paints European skulls. She often donates these unique works of art to conservation organizations to raise funds for the protection of herds, habitats and our hunting heritage.

Hunter and environmentalist

A lifelong hunter and conservationist, Jana is originally from Wisconsin and currently resides in Montana’s Bitterroot Valley. She was co-producer and host of Skull Bound TV, which aired on The Sportsman Channel for nine years. Skull Bound TV received the Outdoor Sportsman Group’s Golden Moose Award for “Best Conservation Program ” in 2019. She currently produces and hosts Skull Bound Chronicles on Carbon TV, and was voted best host by fans in 2019 and 2020. In 2022, Skull Bound Chronicles received the CarbonTV Award for best open show and best big game series. Jana has also co-hosted or participated in numerous national TV shows such as “Invasion Of” on Animal Planet, “Outfitter Bootcamp” on The Outdoor Channel and numerous programs on The Sportsman Channel. She is also a freelance writer specializing in outdoor activities, and holds a B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Mule Deer Foundation

Jana is a life member of the Mule Deer Foundation, the National Wild Turkey Federation and Safari Club International, and an annual member of the NRA, Sportsman For Fish and Wildlife, the Wild Sheep Foundation and the Sportsman Alliance. In 2015, she received the prestigious “Communicator Of The Year” award from the National Wild Turkey Federation, and a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016 from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater for her work promoting women in the outdoors and conservation. She served as a senior member of the Federal Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation Council in 2019 and was appointed by Montana Governor Greg Gianforte to serve a term as Montana Wildlife Commissioner in 2020. As well as being an ardent conservationist, Jana is dedicated to supporting veterans’ organizations. She is committed to bringing veterans in trouble back to the woods and mountains. Skull Bound Chronicles presents several of their stories of courage and strength.

Many painted or beaded Jana skulls are donated each year to raise funds for conservation and veterans’ organizations. To date, she has personally raised over $85,000 for these distinguished organizations.
