Stéphane Monette company

Stéphane Monette | ACPNATIONThe 1990s marked an important period in the history and evolution of the world of hunting lures in Quebec. The advances and changes of the 2000s will mark the foundations of hunting in Quebec on several levels, including the acceleration of information and the contribution of new technologies.

It was against this backdrop, thanks to Nicole and Jacques Monette’s vision and passion for cervids, that the family-run Monette Farm was born in 1991. Breeders of white-tailed deer since 1988 for their own pleasure, they have taken their research one step further to ensure that their expertise has given rise to a range of attractive, top-of-the-range products for hunting. Their facilities were approved by the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) in 1991.

Jacques Monette, a pioneer in the hunting industry for over 50 years and a seasoned businessman, and Nicole Monette, with her background in production and accounting, form an outstanding duo for the future of Ferme Monette. Annie, daughter of the co-founders, joined the company in 2000, taking charge of production. Stéphane, son of the co-founders, joined the team in 2003. His arrival gave the company a new lease of life. Stéphane is a passionate hunter and a chef with a diploma from the ITHQ. He brings his expertise to the production and experimentation of different recipes, and his research brings a new vision of hunting, with products enriched with minerals, proteins and pro-biotics. Their fame quickly spread across America and soon to Europe.

“The Monette Farm pheromones were born, creating a revolution never before seen in American hunting.

Achievements Stéphane Monette

Stéphane Monette | ACPNATION

Jacques and Stéphane MonetteThe company, located in Amherst near the municipality of Mont-Tremblant in the Laurentians, has been awarded the Bronze Medal of the ORDRE NATIONALE DU MÉRITE AGRICOLE after 10 years of operation, the Silver Medal in 2003 and the Gold Medal in 2013 for the quality of our products and facilities. For the first time in 108 years, a white-tailed deer farm was ranked in this category. With a 500-acre fenced-in open-air laboratory allowing them to keep 150 head in captivity for urine collection, the company embarked on a research and development program in 2007. Stéphane and Annie put almost all their energy into it, so they had to increase their workforce.

In 2010, after 5 years of laboratory research in collaboration with their in-house chemists, they concluded their research into synthetic pheromones. The Monette Farm pheromones were born, creating a revolution in American hunting. The company then expanded into Europe.

The company is constantly deepening its research, both in the field and in the laboratory, to satisfy its hunter customers more than ever. Via the web, the company educates hunters with its blog (http://prolfm.blogspot.ca/) regularly updated with instructive videos on hunting and the use of our lures, and on social networks via Facebook it continually posts the fruit of its research. What’s more, Stéphane makes a point of keeping in touch personally via facebook with as many active fans of his page as possible.

Also, for the past 10 years, public lectures have been held throughout Quebec from January to March to educate and deepen hunters’ knowledge of Monette Farm decoys. Its customers are entertained and educated about modern hunting techniques, which helps promote the company’s products. In collaboration with the Fondation de la faune du Québec (Quebec Wildlife Foundation), we also place great emphasis on young people of the next generation, enabling young students to attend conferences free of charge.

The Ferme Monette inc. being a family-run business, its employees include other family members in addition to the 4 managers. And yes, the founders’ 3 sons work full-time on the team during their summer holidays.
