2 BEARS 2 DAYS! Spring bear hunt
“Excellent start to spring! Travis couldn’t make it, so I hiked solo. It’s an area with good visibility where I expected to see bears. I took my time to observe and walk slowly.
I rounded a hill, just in time to spot a large boar feeding about 60 meters away. The wind was horrendous and I was afraid it was going to wind me up, so I acted quickly. I set up the video camera and pressed “record”.
Then I took aim. BOOM, the bear has fled into the dense woods. I ran after him, just in case I had to give him another chance. It covered about 150 meters and piled up. He didn’t get very far. Great shot and excellent video”.
After Tom’s hunt, it’s Travis’ turn. Here’s the full story from his point of view. “Fun solo hunt. It happened quickly. I was walking in a clear cut and jumped on him at 6 yards, whistled and stopped him at 43 yards, pulled my go pro out of my pocket and put it to my head.
I shot an arrow, found it, backed off and shot. Perfect behind the shoulder, shot with a lit arrow. I took the go pro off my head to watch the bear take its last steps and see that it was dead !!!!. I examined it. It recorded for 26 seconds and turned off 10 seconds before I shot.
Me and the Go Pros don’t get along. I didn’t have a phone either, so no photos. Luckily, Tom turned on his radio after hunting the wolf and I asked him to come and take some photos. Anyway, I still like killing things!
