Fishermen run at full speed with their fishing gear to get back to shore, as the ice gives way beneath their feet. The scene was St Petersburg, on Russia’s Gulf of Finland. A ship was travelling at too high a speed in the area, creating waves that split the ice. Some fishermen found themselves adrift on patches of ice. The authorities came to their rescue.
