Adorable river otters. It’s spring (finally) in New England and we’re back in the kayaks. I love the calm of the water on a quiet morning, but I love it even more when the calm is broken by a few curious, playful otters.These three (not quite grown-up) youngsters found me intriguing. Not only did they fish, eat (showing terrible table manners!) and play for me, but they got quite close to the boat, allowing me to get some wonderful close-ups. (As they play, one of them vocalizes, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the high-pitched, bird-like chirps. It’s an otter…) These little creatures never cease to amaze me.
