Amazing video of a breeding turkey

Amazing video of a breeding turkey. Love is in the air with this camera-captured encounter with a wild turkey.Never mind the species, and we’ve captured some pretty interesting footage across Canada over the years, but this is one of our most favorite videos to date! Watch as a Tom courts a turkey and raises it, all captured on camera! We were very lucky to be able to capture these images, as we had set up a camera on the trail in southern Ontario, to observe a local group of turkeys.

Reproduction

Influenced by the amount of sunshine, wild turkey mating begins around April each year and can continue until the end of May. As wild turkeys are polygamous, males will breed with as many females as possible, but they will not participate in brooding or parenting activities. Wild turkeys usually lay between 10 and 12 eggs per clutch, at a rate of one egg per day. Continuous incubation usually takes 26 to 28 days.VOTED BEST HUNTING ISSUE IN CANADAMeticulously produced, expertly photographed and finally in a league of its own, Canada in the Rough™ has become “must-see” television for all North American hunters.Canada in the Rough™ has been named “fan favorite” television show, “best overall Canadian show” and most recently “best overall show” and “best host”.DON’T MISS THE NEXTEPISODECanada in the Rough™ is as unpredictable as the hunts it documents.
