Bear hunt 2022

Hey hey, here’s my spring 2022 bear hunting video.

Bear hunting has always been a “kid’s game” for me… This year was no exception. With turkey hunting, my daughters’ parties and the thaw on the zec, it seems I’m always running to be prepared. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why my hunt turned out the way it did. In all honesty, I’d do it again tomorrow!

It’s sure to be a hunt I’ll remember for a long time. The quest for Jean-René, a bear drawn to my dog’s fermented crap. His skin now rests in the Oak Star Tannery fridge. A souvenir I can’t wait to hang on my wall that will remind me as much of my crazy hunt as it will of my now 14-year-old dog.

Here’s what I used during this hunt:

Traktiq scent diffuser – Hunting & fishing products with caramel scent, orange backpack and jacket.

I baited with food cans and cranberry pouches from glandsdechene.com

A special mention to the poutine at Ti-Oui Snack Bar, which contributed to my harvest.

My Huntworth hunting clothes

My green 65L backpack from North Backcountry. It would have been enough to bring back the meat cut on the spot in cheesecloth.
