We all know that bull moose fight, but cow moose have their “slaps” too. It’s great fun trying to unravel some of the mysteries of the rut. Once the rut has begun, cows often appear in large numbers, and there’s usually an order of dominance between them. The rut doesn’t really happen by chance, although there are always exceptions.Look at these young girls and pay particular attention at 2:11 seconds for the sound of the slap one of the dominant cows gives to an elk mother who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.We hope you enjoy the way we’re sharing the rut this year, spreading it out over time. This means that even if you’ve seen a video of FT23 taking power, today’s video took place just before this “takeover”, while Swag was still in charge.
