Clay Hayes Hunter Build Osage Self bows with Clay Hayes – from start to finish!
Last spring, I met Mark and Jimmy from the Vortex Nation Podcast to help them build two superb Osage Orange Selfbows. This video on bow making is the first in a three-part series they have produced. This video covers the entire process of building a wooden longbow, from stave to finished bow. It’s a complete guide. We start with a whole log and use wedges to divide it into bow staves. From there, we trace a ring, draw the bow’s profile and use a drawknife to shape the bow. The next step is tillering, which consists of shaving the wood so that the bow limbs bend evenly to obtain the desired draw weight. In the second video, we’ll break out those new primitive bows for an archery lesson and a few stump shots.Don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. Every week we upload a new video on one of the following subjects: archery, hunting, etc. archery, bow making, survival techniques, bushcraft, self-reliance, primitive techniques, primitive bows, hunting, camping, fishing, and much more!”A big thank you to our partners who help us fund these videos!”Backpacks – https://kifaru.net/Matériel archery – https://www.3riversarchery.com/Tentes and tarps – https://seekoutside.comJumelles – https://www.vortexoptics.comPointes arrow – https://siriusarchery.com/tuffhead-home/Flèches bow – https://surewoodshafts.com/Vous can also connect with me on my other media!”Website: https://www.twistedstave.com/Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/clayhayeshunter/Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/clayhayeshunter/Patreon : https://www.patreon.com/clayhayes (tagsTranslate)how to build a bow

We make the best traditional archery, bow making, recurve hunting, craftsmanship and survival videos on the web. Join Clay, Liz and the kids on their outdoor adventures, from bowhunting deer and elk in the mountains of Idaho to hunting wild hogs in Florida, and practicing crafts and survival skills. We hunt and fish because we love it, but it’s also how we get most of our meat. Hunting is our way of life. We also cultivate a large garden on our Idaho property. This, combined with hunting, fishing and gathering, is how we obtain most of our food.
