I love bowhunting elk. But try as I might, I don’t always manage to reach my moose-hunting goal during the September bowhunting season. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to return to the mountains in November for a late-season cow hunt using a muzzleloader. I love hunting bucks as much as the next guy, but that’s what moose hunting is all about! It’s a big country, and there’s a lot of momentum. The problem is to get within rifle range of these large herds without being spotted. Let’s see if we can organize a little moose hunt to catch and cook! In this video, I hunt with my old 50-caliber Kentucky rifle. I made it in my early twenties. We’re tent camping in my friend’s wall tent with a wood-burning stove. This makes cold-weather camping much more enjoyable.
