Clay Hayes Hunter The knives I use for hunting and survival | Knife sharpening tips
A good knife is indispensable in the woods. In this video, I’ll review some of the best knives I use for bushcraft, survival and hunting. Some of these knives – such as the Morakniv Companion, the Leatherman P4 and the Condor Parang – may already have been seen in previous videos, but I’m going to show you a few you may not have seen yet. I’m talking about the differences between fixed-blade knives and folding pocket knives, as well as multitools like the Leatherman. While there is no “best bush knife” or “best survival knife” for every situation, some are more versatile than others. Some are good for chopping, others for carving, and still others are better suited to hunting and butchering. Your choice will depend on what you expect from your knife on a daily basis. My everyday knife (EDC) is the Leatherman for its versatility. But when I hunt, I always have a few knives in my hunting bag. We make the best traditional archery, bow making, recurve hunting, craftsmanship and survival videos on the web. Join Clay, Liz and the kids on their outdoor adventures, from bowhunting deer and elk in the mountains of Idaho to hunting wild hogs in Florida, and practicing crafts and survival skills. We hunt and fish because we love it, but it’s also how we get most of our meat. Hunting is our way of life. We also cultivate a large garden on our Idaho property. This, combined with hunting, fishing and gathering, is how we obtain most of our food.
