Clay Hayes Hunter Untamed – a film about traditional bowhunting by Clay Hayes
In spring 2014, “Untamed” debuted at the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Rendezvous in Denver. Since then, it has toured the USA and Canada as part of the Hunting Film Tour. It also tours with the Outdoor Film Tour & Festival and won the Pope and Young Award for best bowhunting film. It was also translated into French for presentation at Arc Aventure, a French bowhunting film festival. Untamed is a film that transcends historical divides by focusing on the innate biophilia experienced by all human beings, whether hunters or not. Untamed is about traditional bowhunting, but the story transcends the weapon. I’ve heard from all kinds of people, from non-hunters to the most hardened riflemen, and they’ve all had nothing but praise for the film. It’s something I didn’t really expect. I think it’s because I’m very careful not to impose my own opinions on others. I know I do things differently and that most hunters don’t share my level of interest. But I think all hunters would benefit from an honest examination of why we hunt and what we’re really after. I think very few of us really do. This film, in a way, is my attempt to do just that and show the world what I’ve found. Enjoy the film and don’t forget to share it. (tagsTranslate)archery

We make the best traditional archery, bow making, recurve hunting, craftsmanship and survival videos on the web. Join Clay, Liz and the kids on their outdoor adventures, from bowhunting deer and elk in the mountains of Idaho to hunting wild hogs in Florida, and practicing crafts and survival skills. We hunt and fish because we love it, but it’s also how we get most of our meat. Hunting is our way of life. We also cultivate a large garden on our Idaho property. This, combined with hunting, fishing and gathering, is how we obtain most of our food.
