Descriptions:

The first day, a coyote is on the bait but very nervous. He goes back and forth a lot and has only three legs. A skunk keeps him company in the field beside him. A shot is attempted but unfortunately doesn’t hit the target. A very dark morning with heavy rain makes it difficult to get the exact distance to the coyote. The shot passes right over the coyote. Failure is part of the risk. The second day, no coyote visible until a coyote arrived out of nowhere. By the time it had settled in, it had moved around. The camera’s focus isn’t perfect, but the coyote didn’t seem to want to stay for long. A shot at 431 yards hit the target, the wind being more powerful than we thought, the shot hit the abdomen instead of the vital zone, but the hit was fatal. Arriving next to the coyote, which had not yet died, a shot was fired to relieve the animal. A beautiful 38 lbs male with a collar in his neck.
