My hunting setup ??????In this video you’ll see 2 moose harvests. We first transport ourselves during the 2019 crossbow hunting season to zone 1 in Gaspésie. It’s the first morning, and we arrive very early to position ourselves. The area we’re hunting is a large meadow and to cover it all, my brother sets up on the main blind while I’m on a tree-stand about 30 yards from the salt pan. It’s very quiet, so I decide to start a sequence of calls from females in heat. I repeat 3 times and decide to wait a while before trying again. A few minutes later, I hear branches scraping against an animal at the other end of the savannah. Am I dreaming? No, I hear footsteps in the water, coming from my brother’s side. I can see him shouldering, so it’s a male. The heart races, but doesn’t fire! What’s going on? He decides to let him pass because the young male comes right up to the urine I placed all around the saline when I arrived in the morning. I’m leaving the camera, he’s coming… For the 2e sequence, it’s 2 weeks later, this time on the first day of the rifle but in the evening. I decide to go to the same place with my uncle to film his hunt, because with a female permit, he has a good chance of harvesting. The wind is blowing like crazy, we won’t see a thing.
