Deer season: Hannah Barron ‘s deer in Kansas
I’ve finally uploaded the video and full story of my Kansas deer.
My dad and I both applied for bowhunting tags in June for Kansas to hunt with our good friend Cody Cutler, whom we’ve known for a few years and who lives there. Fortunately, we both received stickers. We got out our Elite bows and made the 12-hour trip to Kansas. It was very, very cold. I went from 70 degrees in Alabama to 10 degrees and snow in Kansas. The rut wasn’t there and the first few days were extremely slow. I really wanted to get home in time for Thanksgiving, but we intended to stay until both our trophies were filled. Dad was the first to score 8 points. Finally, on our 10th day, November 20, 2 days before Thanksgiving, I was able to take my largest buck to date with a bow, as well as my first beautiful buck ever plated with a compound bow! I’m incredibly grateful for that and for being able to go home for Thanksgiving!
