FIVE CONSECUTIVE YEARS OF SEARCHING FOR THIS BULL MOOSE

Welcome to the first video of Left Hook for 2023. Before we begin today’s story, we just want to remind you how grateful we are for all the adventures and completing our eighth consecutive moose rut is both moving and wonderful. It seems we’re always watching (with binoculars) Left Hook. Always looking, always looking for his unique V-shaped back. He could be a ghost! He could be a ghost! I’ll never forget one evening last year when I watched him from over a mile away and realized it was him, even though we couldn’t see him, even with the binoculars. What can I tell you, he turns me on! I know what to look for. What kind of mood was he in this year? If you’ve been following him over the last few days, in 2019 he fought everything that moved, but in 2020 he met every challenge and never got a scratch on his fabulous antlers throughout the rut. Anyway, let’s answer this year’s question. LH has been VERY busy. He tore it up, and in the short time I spent with him, it seemed to me that he spent much of his day looking for trouble, challenging bulls bigger than he was, and dealing with all the bulls that weren’t quite there. If you look at this video on a high-definition TV, you’ll notice that the camera has trouble focusing… that’s because it was early in the morning and much darker than it appears in the video. I can’t stress enough how incredible today’s Nikon cameras are. They can almost see in the dark. Pause the video at 17 seconds! It was very early and very dark when I was surprised to meet old Lefty. There’s still a lot to look forward to from him this year. Again, LH has been very busy, very aggressive and sometimes very dominant this year. All this augurs well for good times here at MooseMan.Follow us: Youtube: https://bit.ly/YTMooseManWebsite: https://bit.ly/WebMooseManInstagram: https://bit.ly/IGMooseMan#moosephotography #mooseofinstagram #wildlifephotographer #alaskaRick & Libby Libbey owners Andover, NH 03216
