Welcome to Moose & Coffee! We’ve been waiting to share this part of the story.This year’s rut was something of a battle of saws, with the dominant male Swagger seemingly in total control for the first two weeks. But the huge young male FT23 had other plans. . Swagger and Flat Top went back and forth…each had a plan, but surprises awaited.It was interesting to see FT23 work the perimeter and never really go out defeated like most bulls do when they’re defeated in a fight or when they simply back down from the challenge of the fight. Most of the bulls leave the area with determination. Flat Top has broken that mold, that’s for sure.There’s still time to do some holiday shopping in our new 2023 gallery dedicated to elk.
