Hooked On Brooke Gem Search at Sapphire Part 1

When it’s too windy and too bad to fish, we go fossil-hunting.
I’m always amazed that we can dig something so old and potentially valuable out of the ground with only our hand tools.
Sapphires and zircons are the main gemstones found in the Gem Fields of Central Queensland, Australia.
Nature really feeds my soul and that’s why I longed for a trip to Sapphire, to get away from the hustle and bustle of our Gold Coast home (where we were living at the time of this trip).
It was this trip that encouraged us to buy our new home in Calliope Central QLD. We literally looked at our “new” property on the way back to the Gold Coast and signed a contract.
