Hunting industry unites against gun registry

Hunting industry unites against gun registry | Aventure Chasse Moose fishing Deer Outfitters and the great outdoors

Despite being competitors, Aventure Chasse & Pêche and Sentier Chasse-Pêche magazines are rallying against the firearms registry, especially some of its far-fetched points. In this video, the two rivals join forces to reach as many hunters as possible. They suggest you send a letter of disagreement to your local MP. Share in large numbers, because the more hunters who take part in this movement, the better our chances of turning things around.

Here’s a sample letter:

Madame,

Mr,

While I don’t believe in a gun registry, I do want to simplify the gun registration process.

First of all, I’m asking you to remove the requirement to report any change in the location where a firearm is kept if it’s out of its original location for 15 days or more. I find this constraint unrealistic, since such a short period of time leaves no room for the unexpected, and gun owners, with no ill intent, will simply forget to do so.

In addition, since firearms already have a visible, permanently inscribed serial number, and this number will be recorded in the FIS database, I’m asking to be able to provide only this number, rather than the Firearm Identification Number (FIN). This would eliminate the need for gun owners to carry an additional number associated with their firearm, simplifying interactions between them and law enforcement officers.

Finally, I’d like to see barrel length no longer required when registering a firearm. This data is not used to identify the weapon, since barrels of different lengths and calibers can be used on the same weapon.

In order to reduce bureaucracy and create a logical, user-friendly system, I would ask you to comply with these requests.
