Hello everyone, we’d like to point out that although moose fights are frequent in September (and into October), it’s rare to be able to film a moose fight. There’s always a chance to be in the right place at the right time, and for those who do, it’s a stroke of luck that this happens. Many fights take place at night or just before dawn, in low-light conditions. Another reason is that the percentages don’t allow you to attend a fight. For example, if you take part in a moose shoot that lasts a few hours, there are still more than 20 hours of that day that you weren’t able to shoot.What I’m trying to say is this. You hear me talk about gratitude all the time. It’s true! We’re both grateful for every hour we spend with a cool bull, whether it’s Grumpy, Mr T, Mismatch, or now FT23 or Left Hook. From 2018 to 2021, we managed to film a handful of moose fights. (We didn’t even hear an antler snap last year, just one or two stories of a fight that happened.Moose Rut 2023. Somehow, I got a gift.I managed to film Left Hook in a very short but very aggressive fight.Turn up the volume to 2 minutes 36 seconds. It’s worth pointing out that a large percentage of fights are short, like this one, and are over in about 10 seconds.However, when two roughly equal bulls face off and both have that “attitude” and determination, a 10-minute fight can happen.I had a lot of trouble getting into position for this fight. The bulls usually move to higher ground because one of them wants the advantage of the descent, and I had trouble getting into position in time. What’s crazy is that this is the SECOND time I’ve followed Left Hook into battle.
