 Moose hunting 2020 Gaspe Outdoors. My 2020 moose-hunting season in zone 1 of the Gaspé Peninsula yielded a fine buck with a PSE Fang LT crossbow. My hunting setup ??????In this video, you’ll witness the harvesting of my most beautiful moose bull. We’re transported to the fall of 2020, during the crossbow hunting season in zone 1 on the Gaspé Peninsula. I hunt on public land with my brother, my father and my uncles, and we’re lucky to have a very gamey territory. The first weekend we saw a female that went right under my brother’s blind, but I was the one with the female permit, so no shooting. The area we’re hunting is a large meadow and to cover it all, my brother sets up on the main blind while I’m in position on a tree-stand about 30 yards from the salt pan. Monday morning, we return to our respective caches at dusk. After a windy weekend, it’s finally quiet. At first light I begin a series of calls to females in heat. I follow this up with a series of increasingly close and convincing sets for a good 45 minutes. No answer. Not a sound. The sun arrives on the savannah. The birds are singing. It’s the perfect morning, impossible for anything to happen. Then, there it was, that answer in the distance. A male answers. I respond by being very “convincing”. It’s coming, it’s belching and everything’s breaking in the woods. He stops at the edge of the wood for what seems like an infinite number of moments. I make a very weak sound again. He’s off again. I leave the camera and get ready.
