Outdoors Allie How to mount a deer skull in Europe

Step by step, how to make your own European montage at home. This process requires patience, but the results are unreal! DIY European mounts can quickly become ugly, but these tips will help you get a perfect skull every time!HOW TO DO IT:- Skin the face, remove the eyes- Wrap the antlers in cling film and secure with tape (DO NOT immerse them or discoloration will occur).- Add about 2 tablespoons of DAWN soap (or any other dish soap) to a pan of water.- Bring the water to a low boil (DO NOT BOIL). Bring the water to a low boil (DO NOT BOIL).- Leave the skull to “boil” for about 5 hours (this depends on the temperature of the water, again DO NOT BOIL).- Remove as much tissue as possible- Repeat as many times as necessary- Pressure washing removes tissue, but risks damaging the fragile nasal bones.- If you’re trying to preserve the nasal bones, you’ll spend a LOT of time cleaning the tissue. I recommend a long, thin screwdriver and needle-nose pliers.
