A great hunting and fishing adventure in New Brunswick; we visit the Miramichi Northwest Lodge in Wayerton, New Brunswick, to fish for Atlantic salmon on fly, speckled trout and the famous striped bass. The recent opening to fishing of this species has created a stir in the fishing community. For a very long time, striped bass fishing was completely forbidden, which helped increase the population to the point where the bass are now extremely numerous and large.
On the hunting front, we’ll be stalking black bears with bows in autumn, and a first for Passion Plein Air: woodcock hunting with dogs, which is very popular with Europeans. Located on the banks of the Northwest Miramichi River, the outfitter is close to a multitude of other rivers. Internationally renowned, the Miramichi River offers an absolutely fantastic river system.
