Hunting and fishing enthusiasts are excited about the upcoming Salon Plein air, Chasse et Pêche de Montréal, February 20 to 23. The must-attend event moves to the Palais des congrès for four days of discovering new trends in hunting and fishing, the latest accessories and equipment, fishing boats, pontoons, ATVs, outfitters and nature destinations – in short, everything you need to plan your next outdoor season!

A host of new features

This year, exhibitors at the Salon Plein air, Chasse et Pêche compete in ingenuity and present a host of new products and innovations to delight visitors. Here are just a few examples:

A floating all-terrain vehicle

Sherp

The Sherp, an exceptional off-road vehicle, enables hunters and fishermen to venture into previously inaccessible territories. Designed to traverse mountainous landscapes, swamps, deep snow and water, this ATV can even overcome obstacles up to 1 meter high. In cold weather, the Sherp’s interior can be heated using three different heating systems. For remote excursions, up to four double beds can also be accommodated. A new fly-fishing zone

Fly

This year, fly-fishing enthusiasts will be able to take advantage of a brand new area reserved for them. Numerous professionals will be taking turns at the casting pool where visitors can practice and attend various demonstration workshops led by : Karl Béliveau of Équipe Caudale; members of Team SHOR FishingSerge Marleau of Monde de la FlyFrançois Boulet, instructor guide; Fred Campbell of Hooké; and Jocelyn Masson of MFO. The pond will also be flanked by some twenty partners and exhibitors from the area, including the La Pêche est belle team. A group of women fly-fishing enthusiasts from all over Quebec, they will be sharing their passion with visitors.

An exceptional collection of plumes

Plumes

An impressive collection of seven plumes, including a gigantic 64-inch one, will be on display by renowned hunting guides Charles-Henri Dorris, Jason Tremblay-Morneau and Stéphane Belley. Visitors will also have the pleasure of admiring a naturalized giant deer weighing an estimated 350 pounds.

The show features the finest outdoor vacation spots, with over 75 outfitters and nature destinations. Whether you’re looking for a getaway just a stone’s throw from the city, or a stay in the great outdoors in the most remote corners of Quebec, you’ll be spoilt for choice with the many outfitters on site and Sépaq. If you’re planning a hunting or fishing trip to a more exotic destination, you’re in for a treat. We offer brown bear and snow sheep hunting in Russia, fishing in Costa Rica, discovery of the Northwest Territories, fishing packages in Nunavik and stays in Anticosti.

Michel Therrien hunting guides

Michel Therrien grew up surrounded by hunting, fishing and trapping guides. Over the years, following in the footsteps of various experienced guides has enabled him to develop his passion and recognized expertise. For over 20 years, author and columnist Michel Therrien has been sharing his knowledge of animal life and sport hunting.

Michel Therrien moose and deer hunting

It offers moose and deer hunting courses. His in-depth courses focus on hunting techniques that facilitate the harvesting of these noble big game animals. His aim is to entertain people while promoting learning from his adventures with woodsmen, and he shares his experiences with intensity and passion. A well-known speaker at wildlife and hunting events, he is an active participant in major outdoor, hunting, fishing and camping shows in Quebec City and Montreal.

Michel Therrien video and educational capsules

For several years now, Michel has been enjoying making video and educational vignettes. His primary concerns: respect for the environment and for animals, but also the importance of educating people, whether hunters or anglers, about the role of harvesting activities and the art of doing it right! Michel founded the team Hunting Québec, which specializes in video production, training and guidance.
