Snowshoeing and food in the woods | Bushcraft day
On this beautiful January day, I venture into the woods with minimal equipment to enjoy the fresh air. My faithful dog Daisy is by my side for this escape into the forest. I found a safe and ideal place to gather wood and made myself comfortable, and despite the many challenges I faced, I managed to get some rest. I had trouble lighting my fire with my firesteel. Whatever technique was used, the sparks failed to ignite the residual wood and bark. It was the first time I’d ever had so much trouble lighting a fire, which seriously tested my patience, and the problems didn’t stop there: the handle on my firesteel came off, one of the legs on my camera tripod wouldn’t stay in place, the handle on my little cauldron dislodged towards the end of the day, the blade on my saw tended to bend back and wasn’t very efficient. What’s more, I had planned to use the snow for water, but it was full of tree particles and I hadn’t brought anything to filter it.All in all, it was a trying day, but a rich learning experience. His music adds an extra dimension to my videos and I’m grateful to be able to use it.
