Steph Monette ON JASE feb 24 #1415 – Hunting with Marchelo from Guide Chasse 365

#hunting #fishing #pleinair Hi everyone!
This is Stéphane Monette from ONJASE.
Today, I’m going to share with you a goose hunting experience I recently had with Marcelo from Guide Chasse 365.
It was a day full of emotions and learning, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the details of this thrilling adventure.
On a goose hunt That morning, I received an invitation from Marcelo for a goose hunt.
We found ourselves in the field in ideal hunting weather.
A warm breeze was blowing in February, creating the perfect conditions for a memorable day’s hunting.
Preparation and strategy Once in the field, we prepared our equipment and set up our hunting strategy.
Marcelo explained the technique we were going to use to attract the geese, taking into account their specific behavior at this time of year.
Despite the changeable weather conditions, Marcelo was confident in our ability to make the hunt a success.
In the field We observed the first signs of goose activity in the distance, which encouraged us to remain patient and attentive.
Marcelo shared his knowledge of bird migrations and best hunting practices to maximize our chances of success.
The importance of equipment One of the most important lessons of the day was the importance of quality equipment.
Despite the freezing temperatures, our adapted clothing kept us warm and comfortable throughout the hunt.
Marcelo stressed the importance of choosing the right equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Encounter with local wildlife We also had the chance to observe local wildlife, including a black-coated coyote, who put on a fascinating show for us.
This proximity to nature enriched our hunting experience and strengthened our appreciation of the natural environment.
Harvest and conclusion After several hours of waiting and watching, we were finally lucky enough to harvest a few geese, which was the highlight of our day.
But beyond the number of birds shot, what really marked this experience was the pleasure shared between friends, the new encounters and the moments of conviviality around a shared passion for hunting.
In conclusion, this late-night goose hunt in Ontario was a unique opportunity to discover a lesser-known facet of migratory hunting.
Thanks to initiatives such as the late hunt, hunters can contribute to the sustainable management of migratory bird populations while enjoying unforgettable moments in the great outdoors.
