The amazing life story of a favorite giant moose Part 1

Welcome to the incredible life story of a favorite bull moose… They call him 22.For those of you not yet familiar with the channel, I (Rick) write the daily stories and Libby answers the comments. That said, I admit to myself that no matter what I write today, it won’t be enough. After much study and the help of two very close friends, we discovered with some certainty that when 22 arrived in 2022, he was 12 ½ years old. We were lucky enough to be able to film him from 2017 to 2022, making him one of only three bulls we’ve spent time with for six consecutive years. (The other two are Grumpy and Swagger).Today’s Part 1 has no narration, so read that story here, and Saturday’s Part 2 will be narrated by Libby.Key moments to watch2:09 seconds… 2017 First fight we saw … Mr. T vs 222:23 seconds… 2020 Left Hook backs down from challenge 223:41 seconds…2020 Long intense fight… 22 vs Boris4:42 seconds…2021 The best fight we’ve ever filmed… Left Hook vs 22To really tell his story, you’d have to write a book, but 22 was a warrior among moose. He made the most of what he had, and he was truly gifted in the art of being a dominant male. In a way, 22 was the “perfect” bull, if ever there was one. He taught us so much and was a fine example of what a bull moose can do. It’s impossible to tell his story without mentioning MisMatch. These two were the same age, MisMatch probably being a year or two older, and there was a kind of bond between them. You could call it an understanding, but maybe it was the 22nd one that broke MisMatch’s wood in 2018, who knows. They certainly settled their differences at some point. We often found them feeding and resting together in August before the rut began, and I’m sure that when MisMatch didn’t survive the winter of 2021-2022, big 22 felt his absence in the summer of 2022. 22 lived a great life, fought a lot, mated a lot and advanced his species, and he left a hole in his former territory that no one filled last year, his first year away.We hope you enjoy today’s film on him and we thank our friend Randy for sharing some old photos of him so we could make the comparison. Here’s our information:You can watch more videos at this link.Youtube: https://bit.ly/YTMooseManSiteweb : https://bit.ly/WebMooseManInstagram: https://bit.ly/IGMooseManRick& Libby Libbey ownersAndover, NH 03216
