Welcome to Moose & Coffee, and today’s video takes us back to mid-September before Swagger lost his throne to FT23. If you remember, during the rut of 2022, he was the crazy male we called Dennis the Menace, until we found out it was Swagger all along.That’s quite a lesson we’ve learned. Sure, it’s easy to confuse males sometimes, that’s part of the game, but when you learn lessons like this, it tends to encourage us to watch more carefully and document what we see.Anyway, Swagger ran the entire rut in 2022 and did it in dominant fashion. We lost Grumpy, 22 fought him but didn’t come out on top, even Boris backed down in front of him, which is the only time we’ve seen Boris refuse a fight.Coming back to today’s video, Jailbait is in love but doesn’t quite know what to do. Libby has done a wonderful job of reconstructing this video so that we can all learn a little more about what happens during the progression of the rut.As you’ve heard me say before, one of my favorite things about the rut is how slowly it moves from one stage to the next.
