This moose will become a subscriber! Welcome to Wednesday Moose & Coffee! We share new videos twice a week, and we also post live images from Alaska from the beginning of August until almost the end of October.Today’s video is a never-before-seen sequence from last autumn’s rut. Join us for an hour in the woods, condensed into a few minutes. This bull is a beauty. We call him Flat Top, and if you’ve been following along, he’s the guy who’s “grown up” in the last 12 months. In 2021, it was a medium-sized bull that hung out with other moose of similar size for most of the rut. When we first arrived in August 2022, we immediately found this guy to be enormous. (Remember he was with Spike in full velvet). But at the time, we still didn’t know who he was. Before I’d even had a chance to explore the photo files for myself, one of our friends sent us a message, giving her opinion on who she thought he was. This message sent me on a file comparison mission and it turned out to be a bull we knew from the previous year. We had called He’s a young bull with a great chance of becoming part of the new dynasty currently forming in the region we love. exploreWe think it’s exciting to try to study and identify new sires in the region and to observe how they all find their way to navigate the moose rut.Thank you for watching our channel.
