What happens at the end of the rut? Hello moose fans! I love this video. What happens at the end of the rut. For all moose, a little calm returns to their daily lives. And after 6 weeks of intense rutting behavior, a little peace in their grazing areas is just what they need. Libby tells us about this clip and shares her point of view. For me, my favorite part of the ending concerns two things: on the one hand, the calm that returns to their territory and, on the other, the post-rut fighting. There’s no more intense fighting, and the sparring is light and non-violent, but it’s extremely fun to film.One or two things to note, as the rut ends, the males slowly start to nibble graze after a month without eating at all. Nibbling soon turns into regular eating, as they begin their mission to regain the pounds lost during the rut. Secondly, although most fights are over, if two bulls that haven’t settled their score during the rut come across each other, a battle can occur.Thank you for watching our channel.
