After failing to fill his Ohio hunting permits for the past two seasons, Chad Spangler seeks redemption in the first season of Ohio bowhunting with a huge buck named “Hook.” Chad spent the long off-season preparing for the harvest of “Hook”, a male with whom he has several years’ experience. In preparation for this year’s season, Chad spent the summer planting food plots, setting up a redneck blind, setting up surveillance cameras, running scratch simulations and, finally, settling into a game plan to harvest the buck of a lifetime.

After consulting the moon guide, Chad discovered that the opening of the hunt would fall on a red moon. As if by magic, the male showed up in daylight in the days leading up to the opening, giving Chad plenty of confidence for the first afternoon. As the first hunt developed, “Hook” showed up in the clover patch 200 meters from the Redneck blind. Chad’s strategy proved useful, as the male followed a dotted route to an apple tree opposite the blind. The road led the “hook” straight to a sideways shot for Chad.
