Whitetail Edge Season 4 Episode 1 – Evander. Our Midwestern journey began in Illinois, on a farm we’ve been hunting for a few years. The moon was perfect and the weather cold, but unfortunately the deer weren’t moving. After five days of hunting in Illinois, we decided to pack up and head to Kansas with our friend Travis to hunt a deer we nicknamed Evander. Hunting was a real chore. We hunted hard, moved our stands and checked the Spartan cameras to try and get a better position, but we couldn’t see the male we were looking for. We settled into a cedar tree in a spot I loved, and on October 21 we finally met Evander. While it was exciting to see it, we were a little heartbroken that it never came within bow range. We decided to hunt that morning in the same cedar we’d seen Evander in a few days earlier. We were right in the middle of the action as soon as daylight broke, and the rest is history.
