Why do bull moose rake trees and bushes? Part 2. Welcome to a new moose video here on Moose & Coffee. This is the second part of Libby’s series on bull moose antler raking, which has been in preparation for a few weeks. We loved the reaction of so many of you to last Wednesday’s Part 1.Speaking of Libby, if you could see how eager she is to get her kayak in the water and head out in search of the wildlife and flora and enjoy a quiet morning in the woods. Most of our favorite ponds are still frozen, but every day brings us closer to open water. Returning to today’s article, these two videos are our effort to better understand why they do this in the first place. As far as I’m concerned, one of my favorite things about raking bull moose is when they show aggression, then stop abruptly and listen for another bull’s response or approach.
